After a challenging, but rewarding week of shooting, and a harrowing day in airport limbo, I was pleased to spend the day with the band before our Album Release party Saturday night. We had a great rehearsal, and a fantastic show. Thanks to everyone who made it out, and we look forward to touring your way soon.
For any fans lucky enough to be heading to the South By Southwest Music festival, we’re happy to say that we’ll be joining you there! We’ve confirmed a few showcases with more in the works, and will be announcing our schedule shortly.
OK, time to finish up a few errands, and pack my suitcase. I’m on the road again for an extended trip starting tomorrow at 7 in the AM. For those of you that follow us on the One Tree Hill, while we won’t be on tonight’s show, be sure to tune in for a great episode. We’ll be back next week with more great twists and turns. In the mean time, here’s a fun video of me on set interviewing my good buddy James Lafferty. Or is it…?

Here I am with Kacey and Casey who both had awesome cheerleading parts in the episode. I’m showing them some of my own dance moves. ;)

On Set at One Tree Hill, Episode 7.12 Pt. 1
Here are myself, my manager Wes, and OTH’s Shantel Van Santen (Quinn) hanging out on set during the filming of episode 7.12, the episode in which I performed our song “Brooklyn”. Wes had a cameo as a jury member during Quinn’s cheerleading try-out and it seems like it went to his head a bit. ;)

I was doing this interview the other day and they asked me about how we used to prep for old Wakey shows. The big crazy ones with like 17 people on stage, and it got me thinking… Maybe next Friday, Feb 20th should be a big blow out as well. I’m taking a break from the set list right now to consider how crazy we can make it… Any suggestions?

Playing around with India De Beaufort
Here’s a video India and I made on set a while ago. She was working on this song, and taught me the piano part. She’s a talented little devil!

Congrats to our friend Eric Townsend.
He took the photos below of us in the studio. This picture of St Vincent (my musical crush), was crowned Billboard/ PDN Magazine’s “Ultimate Music Moment” of 2009 in their performance category. A huge and well deserved honor for a great photographer. Big ups, Eric.

My trailer!
Here’s a video I shot on one of my first days on set. It shows my trailer, where I get to relax between takes. It’s kinda small, but it’s home!

A day at the office
This is Wes and I hanging out at the 10x10 sized room we call the Family Records office. It’s not huge, but it’s home!
